Use Your Phone To Help Hillary

Do you have unlimited long distance or cell phone minutes; or just a cheap long distance calling card? Then you can make a major difference in the outcome of this race!

Making Phone Calls For Hillary Clinton’s Organization

If each one of the many Hillary Clinton supporters spent one hour a day, or 5 hours over the weekend, we would be able to call all of the Democratic voters in the upcoming primary states. It’s simple. I made 350 calls in a few hours in my state of Arizona.

Go to this link (you may need to register):
–> Hillary Clinton Website Calling Section

Click on the Start Making Calls button.

Read these suggestions before you make your first call.

  1. Look through the phone script, and familiarize yourself with it.
  2. The ‘best calling time’ depends on your area and community demographic. I live in a senior community, so anytime was good. Sunday mornings are not. If you live in a younger community, 7 pm. is a good time.
  3. Commit to at least a half hour for each calling period. It helps you to get a rhythm. Calls go faster, if you are ‘in that rhythm’. If you commit to 2 hour segments, you can complete a lot of calls!
  4. Printing it out is a good idea. I printed it out and added my name.
  5. Practice with your friends, first.
  6. Don’t be afraid if you get a little tongue-tied, with the script, in the beginning. It takes practice! Just make sure you always ‘keep your cool’.
  7. I added a statement to the beginning - I am……..I hope you are doing well today. We are calling people today to remind them to get out and vote in (the state here)’s primary election on (date of primary here). This reminds people who normally do not vote that there is a primary coming up.
  8. At the end, I added - May I answer any question you may have about where Hillary stands on a particular issue? (I had my browser open to her Issue section, just in case.) Everyone said NO. I then reminded them - If you have any questions about where Hillary stands on any issues, you can find that information on her website at hillaryclinton.com; just click on the Issue tab at the top. People were very impressed with the fact that Hillary was not afraid to talk about issues on her website. It made a good impression.
  9. Always thank the person you are calling for their time and patience, before you hang up.
  10. I also devised a short speech for people who did not want to listen to a long one (and some will be impatient). So, I did it in summary form. I had two call scripts in front of me - one long, one short. You’ll get a feel for the impatient ones after some calls.
  11. When you call someone, keep a smile on your face and in your heart. No matter what they say, remain pleasant. If someone really ‘tees you off’, get up walk around, and get rid of that anger before you place the next call.
  12. Print out the phone numbers for the state’s local Democratic party offices, or a toll-free state phone number where people can call to find their polling place. Have it available when you are calling.
  13. When you ask Hillary supporters if they would like to volunteer, and they say yes, tell them that someone from the local Hillary campaign office will be getting in touch with them. And, thank them for their help!
