There was an interesting debate at The Confluence last night about just what IS it that makes Obama appealing to his followers. My take on it as that most of the Democrats who will vote for him will do so simply because he has a D after his name — most are under no illusion that he is the One or some sort of transcendent figure. These people are voting AGAINST George Bush in many, many cases — not so much FOR Barack Obama. It’s still an interesting question to ponder, however: Why do so many Americans of average to above-average intelligence seem to find Obama so charismatic and WONDERFUL? 

I think it’s that they don’t want to associate with freaks like us. That’s my deep thought for the day.
